Bennie is a very sweet boy who has had a rough life so far. When he and his sister were thrown out by their owner as 9-month-olds, they were able to find another home in someone's garage. However, after his sister had kittens, Bennie was moved into an outdoor horse barn with lots of other cats. He was repeatedly beaten up by a huge, agressive male in the area, and had to compete with local raccoons to eat. When Bennie was neutered, he tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), and unfortunately the rescue that got him neutered was not able to find space for him in the building. Bennie had to go back to the horse barn. He is a sweet, gentle boy, and his condition is by no means a death sentence--cats with FIV can live long and healthy lives if kept indoors and cared for properly.
