Summary: The Commercial Brokers Association (CBA) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to develop, plan, coordinate and implement marketing efforts and projects for the association and its related real estate association client organizations. This position will work closely with CBA staff and association client organization's volunteer leaders, including committees and Board of Directors where appropriate
Supervises: Freelance graphic designers
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and manage ongoing communications programs to increase member awareness of CBA member benefits, programs, products and services
Work with CBA staff to promote educational events conducted by CBA and its association client organizations including: CoreNet Washington (CoreNet), CCIM, Washington State Commercial Association of Realtors (WSCAR), and the Institute of Real Estate Management Washington Chapter (IREM). Manage pre-event publicity and post-event communication.
Serve as the main copywriter for all external and internal communications of CBA and its client organizations, including emails, monthly e-newsletter, letters, press releases, media alerts, website information, education session descriptions, reports, print collateral and presentation materials
Develop and maintain a master calendar of all communication activities, owners and contributors
Develop, maintain and enforce CBA style and brand guidelines; train staff on proper use
Manage the development and maintenance of logos, trademarks, service marks, etc.
Develop and enforce a process for marketing and communication requests in order to properly schedule and manage projects efficiently and meet deadlines
Communicate with clients to record project requirements and needs, and work in conjunction with association client's volunteer leaders where appropriate
Ensure brand consistency with design, functionality and messaging in all collateral, including print and digital media
Develop and manage marketing and communications budgets
Supervise freelance graphic designers and coordinate and manage their work flow; submit and appropriately bill graphic design invoices
Email Communication:
Manage email campaigns from start to finish including drafting copy, scheduling, layout, list segmentation and distribution for CBA and its association clients
Track and analyze open rates, click through rates and other key data to make recommendations for future communications
Recommend email blast software where appropriate
Maintain a master calendar of all outgoing bulk and individual member communications for CBA and its related association clients where requested
Social Media:
Develop and maintain a social media plan and presence for CBA, WSCAR and additional clients as requested
Suggest social media tools and platforms for use
Collaborate with association volunteer marketing committees to develop and maintain social media guidelines and recommendations
Website Maintenance:
Manage and execute CBA website content updates, including posting of education programs, events and general information
Assess and recommend enhancements and technical and design needs to CBA website; suggestions to improve the visual layout, content, usability and presentation.
Use analytics (traffic behavior, users, hits, visitors and downloads) to make recommendations on how to improve the CBA user experience on an ongoing basis; provide reports and analysis as requested.
Serve as primary web master for WSCAR websites managing all updates and posting of education programs and events
Requirements:
Degree in Marketing, Communication or related discipline
At least three (3) years of applicable work experience
Superior oral and written communication skills
Strong copywriting skills, knowledge of AP Style a plus
Experience with web content management systems
Experience with mass email blast software (ex: MailChimp or Constant Contact)
Strong project management skills
Ability to communicate and present ideas clearly and logically
Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team
Intermediate to expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and web applications
Previous association management experience preferred, but not required
Graphic design skills not required, but a plus
Additional Requirements: Exceptional customer service and flexibility is required. A high level of assertiveness, attention to detail, imitative and creativity is essential. The ability to be proactive and communicate effectively and tactfully with members and staff, and present a positive image of CBA through these interactions is essential. Advance PC knowledge and a willingness to learn new software and programs as required. Be flexible, adaptable, able to work on a wide variety of projects and tasks independently and in a team structure is necessary. Poses the ability to meet deadlines, manage projects, set priorities, work independently, monitor and control expenditures, and demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail. Some evening and early morning hours, offsite meetings, and overnight travel may be required.
