My name is Jordan Stoneman and I have played the piano since the age of three. Now 7 years into my working life, I play at the Dueling Piano Bar Chopstix and have played as a dueling pianist at over 650 shows for crowds from 2 people to over 12,000. If you have ever been to a casino in Vegas, and seen two piano players banging out crowd favorites, you know what I do. I have played small bars to stadium halftime shows in Utah, Washington, Florida, California, and Chicago. I have the experience to turn you into a great pianist! Passionate, Supportive and encouraging, I guide students step-by-step toward mastery of the keyboard and musical expression. My method as a teacher is to streamline the learning process by quickly removing obstacles and guiding students toward their goals at a natural and unforced pace. Music learning should be fun, and lessons are crafted to fit students needs towards that end. I provide a solid foundation in musicianship and keyboard technique so that students are empowered to explore any kind of music that they wish. Igniting passion and imagination of students, and providing them with the tools to realize their highest potential is the basis of my teaching. Lessons emphasize correct hand position and fingering, sight-reading, rhythm, harmony, musical structure, ear training, improvisation, composition, and music history. Students are shown how to practice in the ultimate effective manner using muscle
memory and repetition as a base, and leave the lesson invigorated, knowing exactly what and how to prepare for the next lesson. Because every student is unique, each lesson is tailored to the student's individual strengths, challenges, and
interests. The student's musical preferences are incorporated into lessons because students are more likely to practice the music that excites them. Generally speaking, piano beginners advanced to intermediate level within 8 months. We can learn Popular Music, Classical, Rock, or learn how to play by ear. It's up to you!
